Robotics Club - Session 2: Program and Registration details

We are thrilled to continue our journey into the world of robotics! Following a successful Session 1, we are excited to announce the upcoming registration for Session 2.

We look forward to seeing returning students and welcoming new faces to our community of young engineers.

Program Levels

Intermediate (Grades 2–4): For students with limited robotics experience; build core skills in engineering, programming, and project management.

Please Note: The curriculum for Session 2 is the same as Session 1. Returning students from Session 1 are welcome to join but should consider the curriculum repetition when registering.

Advanced (Grades 3–5) : Advanced class in Session 2 is designed for students to develop skills for FLLC. Students will develop essential competencies including Robot Design, Engineering process, Teamwork and Communication.

We will add an initial evaluation to group students into teams with similar skill levels.

New Policies for Session 2

To ensure a high-quality learning environment for all students, the following policies will be implemented during registration:

1. Agreement to Behavior & Participation Policy

Robotics Club is a 100% volunteer-run program and requires active participation and respectful behavior.

Students must stay engaged in club activities and use laptops only for robotics-related work (no games or unrelated browsing).

Disruptive behavior or repeated lack of engagement will result in warnings.

Any student who receives two warnings will be immediately removed from the club without refund. Parents are welcome to join their students during club sessions to support their learning.

2. Team Placement

During registration, you will be asked to:

List your preferred teammates (we recommend all team members list each other).

Indicate if you are willing to accept Club Placement if your preferred team cannot be formed or if you do not have a pre-arranged group.

Session 2 Schedule

Date: 2/27, 3/6, 3/13, 3/20, 4/3, 4/17, 4/24, 5/1, 5/8, 5/15, 5/22, 5/29, 6/5.

Time: 3:40 PM - 5:10 PM (Fridays)

Location: Cafeteria

Total weeks: 13

Club Fee: Volunteer Parent: $100, Non-Volunteer: $300

Registration Timeline for Session 2

1. Join PTSA Membership by 2/2 8:00 PM to receive Early Bird registration link on 2/3.

2. After joining PTSA membership, please make sure you are in the BMDL PTSA member's group in Parent Square . (Please contact secretary@bmdl-ptsa.org if you have trouble joining the group).

3. PTSA Membership Early Bird Registration opens: 2/3 8:00 PM (Link will be sent via the BMDL PTSA member's group in Parent Square).

4. General Registration opens to all students in Jing Mei Elementary School: 2/5 8:00 PM (Link will be sent out to school by Naomi via Parent Square).

5. Payment and enrollment information sent to club members: Before 2/8 End of day.

6. Payment due: 2/10 12:00 PM.
