This year, Jing Mei Elementary School will be participating in the City of Bellevue’s SchoolPool fall campaign centered around National Bike & Roll to School Day on Wednesday, May 6, but SchoolPool encourages students to try a new way to school any time during the week of May 4-8 and beyond.
Bellevue SchoolPool is a program that encourages families and students to explore sustainable transportation options for their commute to and from school to alleviate congestion at drop-off and pickup times and locations. During the campaign, students and families are encouraged to walk, bike, carpool or take the bus to and/or from school.
During the SchoolPool campaign, the city will provide students with SchoolPool branded refrigerator magnets with QR codes and seeded paper for planting. Additionally, there will be a student art contest that will be provided for all students. Students will have until May 15 to submit their artwork to the school’s main office. City staff will choose the winners, whose artwork will be possibly used for upcoming campaigns, etc.

Get creative and be part of the Jing Mei Elementary Makers Fair!
Our students are invited to design, build, and sell their own creations. You can participate on your own or team up with friends to make something amazing—bracelets, artwork, toys, plants, crafts, games, or anything you can imagine! This is your chance to be a maker and an entrepreneur: create something you’re proud of, sell it at the fair, earn real money, choose a non-profit or charitable cause that you want to support with a portion of your proceeds and get recognized on our Jing Mei Gives Back Wall of Fame. It’s a fun way to share your talents while making a difference in the community! Start planning your project now—we can’t wait to see what you create!
