Events » Phoenix Walkathon
Join us for our first Jing Mei and BMDL PTSA Phoenix Walkathon!
Students will raise money for our school by walking or jogging around the track, earning funds for each lap completed!
Our fundraising goal for this event is $20,000. We truly appreciate your financial support, as it allows us to engage in wonderful learning opportunities and activities. Please remember that no contribution is too small, and your ongoing support means a lot to us.
This year, our JAG fundraising goal is $100,000. In previous years, JAG has been a single event aimed at reaching this number within a specific time frame. However, this year we want to make the JAG fundraising experience more engaging. Since this is our first time organizing a walk-a-thon, we have set a fundraising goal of $20,000 for this event. We hope this activity will inspire more enthusiasm in helping us reach our annual JAG goal of $100,000. If you have already donated to JAG, we sincerely thank you for your generosity. If you feel inspired during the walk-a-thon or believe it benefits the children, please consider continuing your support. We truly appreciate every contribution.
The Phoenix Walkathon be held on Friday, October 18. Students will have the chance to start their laps during 2nd recess that day and then complete their laps at the main event at 3:45PM after school with food, music, and fun!
Pre-K students: Students are allowed to complete mini laps in their playground area and can attend the main after school event as well.. At the after school event, 1 parent will be allowed on the track to help with completing laps. (No strollers on the field/track.)
Our lap prizes will be distributed during recess or at the after-school event. If there aren’t enough volunteers and your child does not receive their prize, don’t worry! We will organize the prizes according to each child's scorecard and give them to the teachers for distribution. The prizes are as follows:
For preschool only: ribbon bracelets for completing 5 laps
For all other grades (including preschool): ribbon bracelets for completing 5, 25, 75, and 100 laps, as well as temporary tattoos.
Special reward: Students who complete 50 laps can choose to play Gaga Ball or enjoy water activities with their teachers, parents, and possibly Principal Tan for five minutes.
Grade level rewards: Movie lunch party or extra recess/PE for the grade completing the most laps! (School and PTSA will decide at that time and final count will be determined by an average per grade.)
Extra reward: If we meet our $20,000 fundraising goal, all school students will get one additional movie lunch party or extra recess/PE rewards.
