Getting to & From School
Students may either be dropped off and picked up at school by their parent/guardian, or Bellevue School District also offers several bus routes to serve our students.
For Drop Off/Pickup:
Please refer to the maps and pickup zones posted here: Jing Mei website: Drop Off & Pickup.
It gets very busy during these times, so we recommend that you arrive early and park only in designated parking zones. Note that the loop in front of the school is for busses only; please do not use this area for drop off or pickup.
For Bus Routes:
The Transportation Department will post bus routes for the upcoming school year In late August.
To find your nearest bus stop, use the BSD Transportation Department Bus Stop Locator.
You can also find the Jing Mei specific bus stops listed here: Jing Mei Bus Stops PDF. Note that Jing Mei is referenced as School #026 on the PDF.
For more general information about riding the bus, please see the BSD Transportation Department website or if you need assistance, please contact transportation@bsd405.org or call 425-456-4512.

Lunch Options
Students may choose to either bring lunch from home, or enjoy school lunch provided free for the 2021-22 school year.
For the 2021-22 school year, and in compliance with the COVID-19 protocols, students will alternate between indoor and outdoor lunch locations on a bi-weekly basis throughout the year. Students may also choose to bring a camping chair from home and eat lunch outdoors during their indoor rotation.
School lunch menus and more resources can be found here: https://bsd405.org/services/nutrition-services/lunch/.

Birthdays
If students, teachers, and families choose to celebrate birthdays, we will not have any food related celebration. Due to food safety issues, allergy awareness, and COVID-19 Pandemic, celebrations with holidays and birthdays can be done with nonfood items and activities (BSD Board Policy 6700, section D). Teachers may have specific requests regarding birthdays and classroom celebrations. Therefore, it is critical to discuss your desire for a birthday celebration with your child’s classroom teacher ahead of time. If a birthday is celebrated at school, please plan on a duration of approximately 10 minutes.
Birthday invitations are encouraged to be emailed/mailed and not be handed out at school.
*A new popular idea for birthday celebrations is to donate a favorite book to the classroom library in the child’s name. Kids LOVE this! Ask a teacher or librarian if you need suggestions!
