Would you like to play an active part in the decision making for the Bellevue Mandarin Dual-Language Parent Teacher Student Association next year?
Do you know someone, especially a Mandarin speaker, who would make a great PTSA officer?
This year we created a dedicated and effective PTSA, thanks to the enthusiastic, grassroots efforts of parents like you. Your involvement will provide momentum for another great year.
This is a sincere request for you to support and strengthen our PTSA by nominating yourself, and/or others, with the talents, experience and motivation to best fill our officer positions.
Training is provided, and our unelected board and committee directors provide much support.
The PTSA Nominating Committee is currently accepting nominations for 2015-16 Executive Committee Officers:
• Vice President
Some officers are willing to return for a second year (the term limit), but it would be ideal for them to share their responsibilities with co-officers, especially Mandarin speakers. Not one of our current officers is a native Mandarin speaker, so it’s challenging to connect with many of our Mandarin-speaking parents. It’s also become clear that we need either a President fluent in both English and Mandarin, or Co-Presidents each fluent in one or both language(s).
To be eligible for election to any of the above positions, candidates must have a member of a PTSA/PTA at least 30 days prior to being elected.
If you are qualified and interested in any of the positions, and/or know a PTSA member who might be, please let us know. We need all nominations by March 31.
The officer nomination form is available in the office or on our website.
More information about each position is available in the BMDL-PTSA Duties of Officers document on our website: http://www.bmdl-ptsa.org/ptsa-forms.html
Elections for next year's officers will take place at the PTSA General Meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 23, at 6:00 p.m.
If you have any other questions, please direct them to a member of the nominating committee, including Joe Pham at 206.390.1893, firstname.lastname@example.org, and Didi Seth-Frye, email@example.com
This week kick's off the PTSA's Give Big Fundraiser. Information sheets have all been handed out to students to bring home. If you did not find them in your child's school bag, you can download a copy here.
Our fundraisers provide for materials, events and learning opportunities that are not provided by the Bellevue School District. Our goal is to raise $25,000 during this event, which is approximately $250 per student (that’s just $25 per month for the school year). We will need everyone’s help to reach it. All amounts are welcomed. 100% of the proceeds benefit Jing Mei students! Your donation will also be 100% tax deductible. Checks can be made to BMDL PTSA and dropped off anytime into the PTSA drop box in the school office. Thank you for taking the time to invest in our hard-working students and dedicated teachers. Please GIVE BIG!

These activities bring magic to our school and are only made possible by volunteers like you. We invite you to donate a little of your time and talent to support Jing Mei. Our volunteer opportunities exist at every level. There are things you can do at the school or from home for working parents. The PTSA would love to have your help!
